There is a scam you should be aware of. This message comes from one of our residents who volunteers for the Senior Source:
Through the Senior Source I work with an elderly woman who lives in Lake Highlands. She received a call today, allegedly from TXU, saying they were going to shut off her electricity due to non-payment of her bill. They told her she had 10 minutes to make payment arrangements. I have her on an automatic payment plan but she still panicked. Luckily she called me and got in touch with TXU. They said this has been happening in Dallas so I thought we should put out an alert. My guess a lot of our elderly residents do not have email but with the buddies hopefully the information will be passed along.
Please let your neighbors know about this, especially if they are elderly or do not have access to our crime watch emails.
