Dear FRI Community Members and Supporters,
Attached, please find the minutes and updates from our last FRI Community Connection Townhall Meeting, February 11, 2014. I want to thank you for attending our meetings and for your continued support as we move forward towards building the very first multi-generational Regional Recreation Wellness Center (CENTER) in the City of Dallas.
Please mark your calendars and communicate to your friends and neighbors two very important upcoming dates:
Thursday, September 18, 6 a.m.-midnight, North Texas Giving Day, “get up and give” to the “can-do” organization, FRI, transforming Far East Dallas at www.NorthTexasGivingDay.org then join FRI at the White Rock Hills Library from 6-7:30 p.m. as we watch the leaderboard and celebrate our community success!
Tuesday, September 30, 6:30-8:30 a.m., FRI Community Connection Townhall Meeting, Kick-Off of the Feasibility Study for the first multi-generational Regional Recreation Wellness Center in the City of Dallas, Dallas Arboretum, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Rosine Hall, 8525 Garland Road, (Gate I, Main), parking & entry is FREE!
Yes! We are finally ready to launch the feasibility study for the CENTER on Tuesday, September 30th. Our partners, the Dallas Arboretum, will be our hosts where we will introduce our community to your "Dream Team." Come meet the professional folks from the City of Dallas Parks Department, Jacobs Engineering Group, and the FRI Economic Development & Steering Committee teams who will be working to gather your ideas and thoughts for the design and programs for our CENTER. Over the next five months there will be a series of public meetings where you can make your voice heard. Maybe you would like to see an aquatics feature, or an indoor running track, or community rooms where you can learn arts and crafts, or learn about good nutrition and other ways to keep our community healthy?
What if you can't attend? No worries! Your Dream Team will be creating an on-line survey whereby we can capture your ideas and get your input/feedback.
