NPO Katherine Robinson, Dallas Police

Just a reminder, the Dallas Police Department does not monitor Nextdoor 24/7, please call 911 to report any unusual activity in your neighborhood. The police department relies on the community's awareness to report suspicious or criminal activity occurring in your neighborhood to 911.

A simple observation, a single report can make a difference and help solve a crime. Anything that seems slightly "out of place" or is occurring at an unusual time of day can be criminal activity. Call the police at 911 immediately about all suspicious activity! Do not worry that you are bothering the police or about being embarassed if your suspicions prove to be unfounded. Think instead about what can happen if you don't act.

Keep your crime watch chairperson informed of any crimes or suspicious activites in the area so that other neighbors may be informed. Armed with this knowledge, neighbors take action that can prevent a similar crime from happening to them. Neighborhoods with voicemail, phone trees, email blasts or a Nextdoor.com website are able to pass this information along to all of the neighbors in a short period of time, thus alerting the entire neighborhood to be "on the look-out."

*Remember, all suspicious and criminal activity should be reported to 911 in addition to alerting your neighbors!*
