by Maria Valenzuela | Dec 2, 2014

In 2012 we cut the ribbon on the White Rock Hills Library. FRI’s next BIG DREAM is our White Rock Hills Recreation Center (CENTER).

Last year FRI advocated at City Hall for $125,000 in funding to conduct a feasibility study and master plan for our CENTER. Whether we call the CENTER a multi-generational, regional or mega-center, our CENTER will be a unique destination for cultural, recreational and environmental opportunities for everyone who lives in our community.

It will also tie into the White Rock South trailhead. The feasibility study was launched in September and will also analyze a potential partnership with the Dallas Arboretum that would allow them to house their Horticulture Center and build an Education Building on this site at 2229 Highland Road. We are about half-way through our process and will actively see out a master developer once the study for the CENTER is completed. http://bit.ly/FRIwhy #GivingTuesday
