Dear Community Partners,
We need your help to protect our homes, businesses, and environment from the nasty effects of sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs) caused by clogged pipes. One way you can help is by spreading the word about the Holiday Grease Roundup! I have attached the flyer for the regional event both in PDF and JPG formats, if you can help us spread the word, we would greatly appreciate it.
The City of Dallas is teaming up with the North Texas Grease Abatement Council, North Central Texas Council of Governments, the Dallas County Schools Alternative Fuel Program and other area cities to hold the First Annual Holiday Grease Roundup. Residents from all over North Texas will be able to safely dispose of their used cooking oil and grease for free, and it will be used to generate biodiesel or biogas. By collecting this used cooking oil and grease, we will prevent these products from clogging pipes and creating SSOs; they also won’t be going to waste in landfills. By creating biodiesel and biogas, we contribute to our local economy and reduce air pollution.
This Regional roundup is being held December 6th through the 13th. Fortunately for Dallas residents, we have drop off locations available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year throughout the city of Dallas!
Please partner with us to spread the word about the Holiday Grease Roundup. Visit www.ceasethegreasentx.com for more information on how you can help us prevent water pollution caused by SSOs. You can contact us at (214) 243-2357 for questions about this event. Thank you, and we hope to see you there!
