The program is designed for adults who would like to learn how the fire department is organized and to provide information on various facets of our operations. The 8-week class meets one night per week on Thursdays at the Dallas Fire-Rescue Training center located at 5000 Dolphin Road, Dallas, Texas 75223. Each night participants will be engaged with presentations related to the fire service. Topics to be taught include EMS (Emergency Medical Services, Fire Suppression, USAR (Urban Search & Rescue), Fire Dispatch Operations, Fire Prevention/Education and other informative lessons.
Participants will also receive CPR certification training. The last week of the (CFA) will involve a full day on Saturday (May 23, 2015) of live demonstrations and hands-on participation. The participation level is left to the student but would include rappelling from our training tower and extinguishment of fires staged inside our burn building.
