The Harry Stone Recreation Center (2403 Millmar) closed at the end of August for renovation. The design and remodeling includes a circular, glass-enclosed office at the front of the building, a 1500 square foot, state-of-the-art fitness center, commercial kitchen with adjacent dining, new meeting rooms, and landscaping and lighting that will offer greater safety as well as a more attractive setting. The two gymnasiums will be refurbished, and the dance studio with its special flooring and mirrored walls will be rebuilt. The Center is expected to reopen in a year.
