The building of the TFST will connect with the Lawnview DART Station (and eventually the Trinity River Audubon Nature Center)\, follow along the Ash Creek Greenbelt\, Highland Road and the city-wide trail system.  Come learn where the trailheads will be located in the Far East Dallas area and how the trail will connect to the bike path on Highland Road leading to the White Rock Hills Park and future Recreation Center.  Learn about the timeline for the future Ash Creek Trail that will connect from Highland Road to St. Francis Park. DESCRIPTION:League of Women Voters is hosting a panel presentation about the proposed Home Rule initiative at free public educational meetings on: \nTuesday\, May 27 at Northaven Church at 11211 Preston Rd from 7 to 9 pm\nWednesday\, May 28 at Fretz Recreation Center at 6950 Beltline at Hillcrest from 6:30 to 8:30 pm\nThursday\, May 29 at Fireside Recreation Center at 8601 Fireside Dr. Dallas 75217 \nThe purpose of the meeting is to inform Dallas Independent School District (DISD) voters about: \n\nHome rule in the Texas Education Code\,\nThe status of DISD and its students\,\nThe elected trustee structure and benefits to DISD students\, teachers\, and the community under the trustee structure\,\nAnd home rule\, the benefits to DISD students\, teachers\, and the community under the proposed home rule structure\, and the petition process.\n\nAfter the panelists have spoken\, there will be audience questions which are written on cards for the panelists\, and panelists will respond with their answers\, and an open microphone for 10 minutes when citizens can make their own comments. Every effort is being made to have a Spanish translator at each meeting. \nInformed citizen participants will decide what is best for DISD students\, families\, and the community in a democratic society. We will hear from Pat Bransford\, CEO & Founder of the National Urban Technology Center who will be talking about the Wells Fargo Bank Financial Education Network (FEN) Initiative. FRI has been named one of four sites\, nationally to pilot this program.
