Come learn where the trailheads will be located in the Far East Dallas area and how the trail will connect to the bike path on Highland Road leading to the White Rock Hills Park and future Recreation Center.  Learn about the timeline for the future Ash Creek Trail that will connect from Highland Road to St. Francis Park. DESCRIPTION:Owenwood Farms Education Center joins the DFW Solar Tour this year (Saturday\, 05-Oct.)\, providing instruction with a hands-on “Solar Lunch Box” Project\, in addition to conducting a site visit highlighting their proposed off-grid facility\, discussing the plan and components of the future PV solar system\, and a water catchment system and sustainable food production.  The goal of Owenwood Farms Education Center is providing organic\, locally sourced fruits and vegetables to grow the communities of zip codes 75218 & 75228 out of being a food desert. \nWhat is a Solar Lunch Box? – A Solar Lunch Box (SLB) is a small-scale working model of an Off-Grid Solar Charging System designed by a NTREG junior member when she was 12 years of age. Each SLB can charge a mobile phone and/or power a small light.
