Additional names may be placed in nomination by any current member of the FRI Community Connection, but such nominations must be received in writing by the Chairperson of the Nominating Committee at least ten calendar days prior to the scheduled date of the FRI Annual Meeting (February 2). Such nominations must include the signatures of the persons making the nomination(s) and seconding nomination(s), plus the written permission of the nominee(s). Nominations meeting these criteria will then be added to the ballot for voting at the FRI Annual Meeting.

Nominees elected at the FRI Annual Meeting shall be installed by the outgoing President at the first Board meeting following the FRI Annual Meeting.

Bayles Elementary School Anniversary

One of Dallas’ oldest public schools is celebrating an anniversary. There has been a Bayles Elementary School in Dallas for 156 years, the last 50 at their present location, 2444 Telegraph Avenue here in far east Dallas. The school is at its third location, after opening in 1856. All are welcome to join their 50th anniversary celebration, where previous principals, including the one who opened this building, will be present. Come march in our parade with African drummers and Aztec dancers

Children can come dressed up as their favorite storybook or fairy tale character or come as they are

Come represent your neighborhood, faith community, school, lodge, or business

Line-up for the parade begins at 9:30 a.m. in the parking lot of White Rock Church of Christ (9220 Ferguson Road)

Come to our Library to hear storytellers, see art demonstrations, have someone read a story to you, hear the Dallas Police Department Choir and other musical performers.

A fun event for children and their families of all ages, all day!
