FRI supports the Dallas Parks Foundation

Parks are vital to any city. Parks and green space promote interaction and citizen willingness to cooperate and work toward common goals, “social capital” as it is referred. Dallas has one of the largest municipal park systems in the nation consisting of 371 parks totaling 18,618 acres plus 4,400 surface acres of water. Unfortunately, tight budgets and changing priorities have reduced its stature.

A healthy parks system makes a substantial contribution to the quality of life in Dallas and the Dallas Parks Foundation is kicking it up a notch or two. They are starting a revival. A revival begins recovering the quality and prestige of the park system, regaining confidence and enthusiasm of our citizens, and repositioning Dallas parks as a state and national leader. To get us on the road to revival – awareness and support is key.

As FRI works to identify funding for our White Rock Hills Recreation Center, there are 3 things you can do that will help the Dallas Parks Foundation help us:
